Lesser-Known Orlando Theme Parks

Orlando is known for its world-renowned theme parks.

Walt Disney World Resort, Universal Orlando, and SeaWorld Orlando attract millions of guests from around the world each year.

But Central Florida is also home to a few other theme parks that pack plenty of adventure and fun into a trip to Orlando.

Here are three of our favorite lesser-known Orlando theme parks.

LEGOLAND Florida

LEGO enthusiasts and novices alike will love a trip to LEGOLAND Florida.

Just over an hour and a half from the International Drive District, LEGOLAND Florida is a colorful haven for families.

The park has over 55 rides and attractions, many of which are suitable for kids of all ages and heights.

Older kids will love taking on familiar characters throughout rides like LEGO NINJAGO The Ride, The LEGO Movie Masters of Flight, and Unikitty’s Disco Drop.

Kid-friendly coasters like The Dragon and The Great LEGO Race send riders swooping and soaring through the sky.

Water attractions such as AQUAZONE Wave Racers and Battle of Bricksburg may leave you soaked – which may feel wonderfully refreshing on a hot day.

Traveling with toddlers? There are plenty of DUPLO areas designed for little ones to explore, play, and have fun, including a farm-themed splash pad.

And that’s not all your younger kids will enjoy.

LEGOLAND Florida is also home to Peppa Pig Theme Park Florida, a playful area dedicated to the world of the beloved Peppa Pig series.

Grownups and small children ride a red roller coaster with a figure of a cartoon pig in the front car.

Throughout Peppa Pig Theme Park, you can enjoy toddler-friendly carnival rides, character meet-and-greets, a nature trail, a splash pad, and so much more.

LEGOLAND Florida also has its own water park that can be added to your theme park ticket.

The water park is the perfect spot to cool off while still enjoying LEGO-themed fun.

A boy and a girl in bathing suits splash one another in a large splash pad with their parents and a large play structure behind them.

Build your own LEGO raft and use it to float along the 1000-foot lazy river.

Take on two exciting water slides and add a little thrill to your day of fun.

Little ones 6 and under can enjoy the DUPLO Splash Safari with larger-than-life creatures, smaller slides, and plenty of ways to splash and have fun.

Throughout the year, LEGOLAND Florida hosts a variety of exciting events, including the LEGO Festival, Red, White, & BOOM!, Brick-or-Treat, and special holiday celebrations.

It’s a bit of a drive from Orlando, but well worth the journey for anyone who loves LEGO and is looking for family-friendly entertainment.

Fun Spot Orlando

Fun Spot America theme parks are jam-packed with rides, amusement, and entertainment.

With two locations in the greater Orlando area – one in the International Drive district and the other in Kissimmee – Fun Spot America is a great option for a day of family friendly fun.

At the Orlando park, you’ll find the city’s only wooden roller coaster, thrilling carnival-inspired rides, and plenty of attractions the whole family will love.

Passengers excitedly glide down a wooden roller coaster against a blue sky.

Fun Spot America is known for their exciting go-karts, including multi-level tracks that allow you to choose your level of intensity.

Meander along the Orlando Midway and try your luck at classic carnival games like Balloon Bust and Water Gun Fun.

Also along the Midway, you’ll find a 10,000 square foot arcade, swings, slides, and other nostalgic rides.

There’s plenty for little ones to enjoy at Fun Spot America, too, including kiddie swings, a spinning teacup ride, and the Sea Serpent coaster, designed with gentle turns and dips.

On a hot day, the Splash Pad is the perfect destination for cooling down. Slip-resistant flooring and interactive water toys make it ideal for guests of all ages.

Interact with some of Florida’s most iconic residents at Gator Spot, where you can hold and feed a gator, or watch gators in action during the exciting feeding show.

At night, a large glowing archway surrounded by carnival rides reaches into the sky with the moon glowing in the distance.

Fun Spot America is an Orlando theme park destination that’s convenient, affordable, and fun for the whole family.

Gatorland

Three large alligators sun themselves along the bank of a shallow swamp.

Nothing says “Florida” quite like theme parks and alligators.

Gatorland combines the two for a totally unique experience affectionately nicknamed “The Alligator Capital of the World.”

Home to over 2,000 American Alligators, the 110-acre theme park and wildlife preserve is one of the best places in the state to safely observe and interact with gators.

If you’re looking for a thrill, try the Screamin’ Gator zipline with over 1,200 feet of adventure seven stories in the air.

A woman in a helmet smiles as she ziplines through treetops with a large swamp full of alligators below.

You’ll find yourself gliding over Cuban and Nile crocodiles and the alligator breeding marsh at nearly 30 miles per hour.

Croc Rock Adventure is a brand-new attraction that has guests climbing rock walls designed to look like local sandstone.

You’ll also cross a swinging cable bridge and end with 350-foot zipline.

The Stompin’ Gator Off-Road Adventure packs epic adventures into custom-made off-road monster vehicles for a “rugged and hilarious” ride.

A large buggy with a sign that reads Cannibal Jake in the midst of a wooded area, with a guide pointing out something out of frame to a buggy of passengers.

Catch gators showing off their skills at one-of-a-kind shows like the Gator Jumparoo and Alligators: Legends of the Swamp.

Gators and crocs aren’t the only creatures that call Gatorland home.

You can also say hello to wild cats, tropical birds, snakes, tortoises, and even get up close and personal with a capybara.

Gatorland is a great destination for outdoor adventure, excitement, and even a little education about how to protect the environment and the wild creatures who call it home.
